PHILIPPE GELINAS TICKET FUND
CELEBRATING A LIFE IN MUSIC

Elaine Smith - Chair
Committee: Terry Tennes, Ann Wheat, Carole Kohn-ex officio

The fourth annual CAMTA ticket fund has been created with donations made in the name of our beloved past president, Philippe Gelinas. As the founder of CAMTA's program to obtain discounted tickets for the piano series, Phil believed that the future of concerts depends on youthful attendance now.

All CAMTA teachers may select a total of two students from their studio to attend free of charge the concert of Joyce Yang on Sunday, November 11, 2007, 3:00 p.m., Symphony Center Sara Lee Piano Series, 220 S. Michigan Avenue. The program is Schumann Carnaval and music by Brahms and Vine. At age 19, Joyce Yang was the silver medal winner in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Only two years later she will be making her Symphony Center debut.

Phil had a special ability to teach a very wide variety of students. You may choose a student because he or she has never been to a concert, has worked especially hard, is interested in majoring in music, or for any reason you think is worthy. The teacher should ask the student/parent prior to selection and they need to commit to go. The age limit is eight years old through high school.

In order to prolong the program free tickets to parents will be given only under special circumstances. Contact Terry Tennes with these requests. Otherwise, parent and extra tickets are available for $15 each.
