BIOGRAPHY
Adam Schumaker is the Director of Education at the Gilmore Piano Festival, where he leads educational programs and builds partnerships to expand access to music education across Southwest Michigan. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit administration and strategic planning, Adam has successfully grown educational initiatives, secured significant funding, and developed community-focused programs. He also serves as a Visiting Professor of Music and Entrepreneurship at Kalamazoo College, where he teaches music theory, composition, and arts entrepreneurship. A W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network Fellow (Class 3), Adam is committed to fostering inclusive leadership and advancing nonprofit impact. He holds a Master of Music in Composition from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Principia College. Adam is also active in arts advocacy through board service, grant panel work, and thought leadership in nonprofit management.
